Aqua Carpatica: Water purity in physical-chemical parameters

Besides the fact that it has the lowest nitrate content among mineral waters in Romania, AQUA Carpatica is also distinguished by the most harmonious oligo-mineral content among bottled waters.

The physico-chemical parameters of flat water correspond to all the regulations imposed for flat water, all indicators being within optimal parameters.

According to AFFSA (French Food Safety Agency), the values must comply with the following criteria:

Compound name Recommended value AQUA Carpathia flat Calcium (Ca) <100 mg/l 48 mg/l Magnesium (Mg) <50 mg/l 15.2 mg/l Fluorine < 0.5 mg/l < 0.1 mg/l Sodium <20 mg/l 0.75mg/l Nitrates <50mg/l adults and <10mg/l babies 0.8 mg/l Total mineralization (TDS) <500 mg/l 278.8 mg/l PH 6.8 – 7.2 7,21

Contrary to common perception, still or carbonated mineral water has a taste, smell and color due to the mineral salts it contains. If they are in balance, they will positively influence the quality of the water, making it easy to drink, with a pleasant smell and a clear appearance.

Sodium in mineral water

Sodium is an essential mineral indicator. Salt, or sodium chloride, is vital for the functioning of the body and regulates, together with potassium, cellular processes and electrical membrane phenomena. Sodium is beneficial only in moderate amounts, because in excess it can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

A balanced amount of sodium is necessary for the proper functioning of the body, but certain groups of people, such as those with hypertension or cardiovascular diseases and babies, should be more careful about sodium consumption, choosing waters with a sodium content below 20 mg/l.

Due to its low sodium content, of 0.75 mg/l, AQUA Carpatica plata is recommended for daily consumption, being ideal for people with heart conditions, hypertension, those who make intense physical effort or for preparing baby food.

Calcium and Magnesium – necessary balance

Calcium is vital for the human body, influencing the transmission of nerve impulses and bone health. Calcium deficiency can cause various health problems. AQUA Carpatica, with a calcium content of 48 mg/l, is ideal for daily consumption.

Magnesium is also essential for the health of the body. Its lack can lead to various unpleasant symptoms. AQUA Carpatica, with a magnesium content of 15.2 mg/l, helps to balance the magnesium requirement in the body.

The pleasant taste of water is also influenced by the ratio between calcium and magnesium, AQUA Carpatica being thus easy to drink and excellent for hydration.

Fluorine – indispensable for teeth

Fluorine is important for the protection of teeth against caries and for bone structure. AQUA Carpatica, with a fluoride content below 0.1 mg/l, is within the recommended limits, protecting dental health without risk.

PH and Total Mineralization (TDS)

Water must have an almost neutral pH, and AQUA Carpatica has an ideal pH of 7.21. The total mineralization, or TDS, indicates the level of minerals dissolved in the water, AQUA Carpatica having a TDS of 278.8 mg/l, which ensures the pleasant taste, smell and color of the water, also contributing to the health of consumers.

Nitrates and Nitrites

The limit of nitrates and nitrites is essential, especially for infants and babies. AQUA Carpatica, with a nitrate content of only 0.8 mg/l, is substantially below the permitted limits, being considered extremely pure and safe for children’s consumption.

The springs where AQUA Carpatica comes from are located in the heart of Bucovina and are protected and cared for to maintain the purity and balance of the waters, being among the purest and balanced in Romania.
