Sponsored Content Policy

Some articles on EuroBeverage are paid for by brands, producers, importers or other partners. This policy explains how we handle them, so that readers always know what they are reading and partners know what to expect.

What counts as sponsored content

Sponsored content is any article or feature that a third party has paid for, or for which it has given us money, products, travel or other benefits in exchange for publication. Advertising is covered separately by our Advertising Guidelines.

How we label it

• Every sponsored article carries a clear "Sponsored" label, on its card in lists and at the top of the article.
• The article page includes a short disclosure note that it was paid for by a partner and reviewed by our editors.
• Where it helps readers, we name the partner.
• We do not disguise sponsored content as independent editorial content, and we do not remove the label later.

Links in sponsored content

Every link from a sponsored article to an external website carries the attribute rel="sponsored". This tells search engines that the link is part of a paid arrangement, as their guidelines require. Our publishing system adds it automatically to every external link in content marked as sponsored, and it cannot be removed by the author.

Editorial independence

Our editorial team decides what we cover and what we say about it. A partner who pays for a sponsored article does not buy coverage, reviews, rankings or mentions anywhere else on EuroBeverage, and does not see or approve our independent stories before they are published. Our editors may write about a partner's products, positively or critically, whether or not that partner sponsors content.

Review before publication

Every paid article is reviewed by our editors before it is published. We check that it:

• is accurate, and does not contain claims that cannot be supported;
• follows the rules on responsible alcohol communication in our Advertising Guidelines, including no targeting of minors and no health claims;
• respects the rights of others, including copyright and trademarks;
• meets our standards for quality and usefulness to readers.

We may ask for changes. We may reject a paid article, before or after changes, if it does not meet this policy. If we reject a paid article, we refund what was paid for its publication.

What we do not publish

We do not publish sponsored content that encourages excessive or irresponsible drinking, that is aimed at or likely to appeal particularly to people under 18, that links drinking to driving, sporting performance, or social or sexual success, that makes health or therapeutic claims, or that is misleading or unlawful.

Corrections

If we find an error in a sponsored article after publication, we correct it, as we would in any other article, and note the correction where it matters.
