The Tequila Sunrise gets its dramatic color when grenadine settles through orange juice. Build the drink over ice and leave it unstirred after adding the syrup.

  • 90 mlorange juicefresh
  • 15 mlgrenadine syrupadd last without stirring
  • 1 sliceorangehalf slice

How to make it

  1. Pour tequila and fresh orange juice into a highball glass filled with cubed ice.

  2. Add grenadine slowly so it settles into a sunrise gradient; do not stir.

  3. Garnish with half an orange slice.

Bartender's tips

Pour grenadine last and do not stir, so the sunrise gradient remains visible.
